walking food tours

Our walking food tour is the best way to experience Oaxacan ingredients and local food , it was created to show people how do locals eat in Oaxaca, it all starts at my favorite Coffee Shop in the heart of downtown Oaxaca, “Café Brújula” , at 9:30 am , once everyone its signed up we will make our way to Rito Chocolatería to try the best chocolate recipes , the next adventure is to get  to the biggest market in the whole state of Oaxaca, the Mercado de Abastos where we will walk trough the different sections and aisles to learn about each particular part of it , local  produce and fruits, chiles , spices and other ingredients , here we get to try some  while we talk about them , we stop at different stalls to eat goat barbacoa, fried snacks known as garnachas, of course memelas Doña Vale, green and yellow mole empanadas, fresh coconut water as well as fresh agua miel, pulque and tepache, we then return to Jardin Socrates to try and learn about the traditional Oaxacan sorbet known as nieve , all made in a traditional way with fresh and local ingredients of the  season . The day ends at The wine room, a space created to enjoy different spirits all produced in México such as wine, vermouth, corn whiskey , vodka, gin and beer and of course Mezcal . It starts at 9 :30 am and it ends approximately around 2pm , it includes all foods and samples , beverages including alcohol and tips and gratuity to all the people we visit.

Overall the tour includes up to 10 stops for food and drinks, it is a walking tour, approximately 3 miles , trust me , you can do it!
